Galloping for Genghis Khan
The Mill hired motion capture specialists Audiomotion Studios to shoot and record sequences of horse motion capture for the BBC docu-drama Genghis Khan.
May 2005
Crowd replication was needed to increase the volume of horsemen galloping through the desserts. This was done in 3D using Weta's AI Massive software as a way of ensuring that the horses didn't crash into each other. It proved quite a challenge for MillTV's head of 3D, Adrian Wyer to be working with horses instead of people.
Fortunately, the Audiomotion team had extensive knowledge of capturing horses from previous projects and that coupled with Adrian's considerable skills in 3D, the shots worked out nicely in the end.
Neigh bother.

In Pursuit of Excellence
SCEE and Bigbig Studios chose Audiomotion to capture all of the moves for the forthcoming PSP title Pursuit Force.
February 2005
An action packed driving title described by one lucky devil that has had a look as: "breathlessly paced, intuitive, and absolutely gorgeous!"
The game will feature 30 missions set in nearly 250 square miles of in-game terrain, including city streets, freeways, and off-road areas. Players will be able to drive a number of undisclosed vehicles and engage in car chases of up to 150mph. Gameplay will consist of driving as well as "intense combat with gang members whilst hanging onto moving vehicles."
Audiomotion delivered all of the motion capture animations during several sessions in the studio using highly skilled martial artists and stuntmen for the main roles.

The Regiment
When Konami of Europe and Kuju Entertainment set about the development of The Regiment, they hired a team of one of the worlds most feared and respected units: The SAS - Special Audiomotion Services. Sorry, that should of course read Special Air Services.
January 2005
Based on briefings and scenarios supplied by S.A.S veterans, The Regiment is a realistic interpretation of infiltration and armed combat. The game play is focused purely on action, as players use an effective ordering system to deploy their colleagues, and use specially selected weapons and hand-to-hand methods to take out the terrorist threats.
The arsenal was provided by Audiomotion as was the special forces personnel for the multiple capture sessions.

We open our doors for potential clients to see mo-cap in action
At Audiomotion we are opening our doors and inviting people into our offices to see exactly how motion capture works.
We have extended the invitation to those companies who are genuinely interested in seeing what motion capture can do for their projects.
It will give visitors the opportunity to create a free mini shoot of about five or six moves on a current project.
Results will then be forwarded within 72 hours.
Audiomotion is currently working on some very cool projects that are still in development, while it also recently worked on the motion capture for Conflict Desert Storm 2 and The Great Escape, plus more weather stings for Eircom. "A free test shoot is a great introduction to mo-cap," said Audiomotion's Mick Morris. "See the studio and facilities and get excellent data for your demo."
