Speed Racing Syndicate
Co-published by Codemasters, Namco's Street Racing
Syndicate™ is one of the most realistic street racers ever to grace
consoles.
December 2004
Developed by one of the worlds leading driving game development specialists
Eutechnyx Ltd, and already a hit in the US, Street Racing Syndicate™ will
launch for PlayStation 2 and Xbox in PAL territories in Q2 2005.
"We're in this because we love driving, tuning, and gaming.
Simple as that," said Robert Zalot, the producer of SRS. "We know the authentic
street racing scene and we wanted to really deliver a game that lived it - the
cars, the music, the flavor, and the girls…SRS."
The Audiomotion team was hired by Eutechnyx to capture the subtleties of
movement of all of the flagger girls. A tough task when dealing with such sassy
ladies, but professionalism shone through and as usual we didn't fail to
deliver.

Into the Killzone with Brian Cox
Audiomotion were hired by SCEE and Guerilla Games to work
alongside the prolific creatives at Axis Animation to deliver all of the
performance capture for the cinematic intro to Killzone.
November 2004
An intensive two day shoot at Audiomotion with ex-special service soldiers, for
the principal animation was followed by an on-location shoot at a sound stage
in Soho with Hollywood actor Brian Cox.
Mr Cox (who has starred in films like 'Troy', 'The Bourne
Supremacy', and 'X-Men 2') was recruited to voice the nefarious Visari
character. "He was absolutely fantastic," said Sam McCarthy, producer at Axis.
"Working with such a high calibre actor as Brian Cox brought a whole new
dimension to the sequence," said McKenna in a press statement. "The decision to
capture the body motion on the same day as the voice record proved to be an
excellent one. Many nuances driven from the speech came across well once
translated into CGI and Brian's years of experience showed, resulting in a
chilling performance."
The movie is available in downloads.

Athens 2004
Gold For SCEE, Eurocom and Audiomotion With Athens 2004
August 2004
Audiomotion, the UK motion-capture studio, is proud to announce its involvement
in providing the mocap for Athens 2004.
The fact that Athens 2004 has reached the number one spot speaks volumes about
the team that delivered it. So time round we let the reviews speak for
themselves:
“It's instantly noticeable just how far motion capture has come, with
every single event beautifully animated with a catalogue of incidental touches
at every stage adding to the realism on show. In terms of the sheer breadth of
dynamic reactions there are to your input it's hard to think of a game like it
in technical terms".
Eurogamer 30/06/2004
"Graphically the game is quite tasty. The developers’ use of
motion-capture really shows in the natural way the animations appear on screen.
The use of real sports stars for the animations, and renders of the actual
event areas, delivers a very realistic game experience."
Gameplanet 29/6/2004
"The game injects an admirable level of innovation, like the gymnastics
tasks that entail a combination of timing and speed … this works a
treat, testing your button-pushing reactions and proving as good a way as any
of recreating the sport.
It is fortunate that this game makes the very most of its subject matter using excellent motion-capture. Athens 2004 is a solid game that will have considerable appeal."
BBC News 13/6/2004
In the Downloads section you can find the gymnastics
in-game footage. We hope you like it as much as we do.

There's really only one mocap studio capable
of dealing with this lineout!
April 2004
The development team behind Jonah Lomu Rugby needed the very best mocap studio
to deliver the moves for their latest title. Swordfish Studios came to
Audiomotion, the UK motion capture studio to capture over 400 moves for their
chartbusting title - World Championship Rugby.
The official game of the English Rubgy squad has been storming up the charts
since its release, exceeding all expections. Realising it was going to be
difficult for any mocap studio, the development team from Swordish approached
Audiomotion knowing that they had the technology and the capture area for the
job. " It wouldn't have been possible without Audiomotion's expertise in
capturing quality data for sports projects" said team leader Ian Flatt.
Audiomotion's Mick Morris stated" The Swordfish team and their rugby stars threw
some real challenges our way - six footers engaged in rucks, mauls, lineouts
and a lot of very agressive tackles. It was all in a days work though for our
crew operating the latest generation cameras. Another facility would have
struggled with the demands of this project. Also as rugby fans ourselves it was
great to be able to capture these fantastic moves in our studio.
